The design team at XYI Design has created a unique and captivating interior design called "During the Strolling." This 140㎡ residence seamlessly fuses the natural vista captured by the line of sight with a relaxing atmosphere. The use of natural materials such as wood, stone, and fabric creates a soothing ambiance throughout the space.
The living room, the heart of the residence, is bathed in sunlight thanks to the expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The light passing through the glass and the unobstructed view create a sense of spaciousness and ease. Adjacent to the living room, the guest bedroom/den features an open glass partition design, blurring the line between public and private spaces. This design choice allows the sunlight to permeate the room, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The kitchen, with its large areas of black enameled glass, reflects and extends the sense of space. The natural wood and stone elements establish a harmonious base color palette, ensuring that each space retains its unique personality while contributing to the overall elegance of the residence. It is truly an oasis of calm and tranquility in the midst of a bustling city.
The design team employed a combination of milkyway gray marble, gray mirror, solid oak, black iron, oak sea island type flooring, black piano enamel, wood grain floor tile, and cotton cloth to bring their vision to life. These carefully selected materials enhance the natural and relaxing ambiance of the residence.
Functionality and entertainment are seamlessly integrated into the design. The living room serves as both a public space and a leisure area, where one can enjoy sensory pleasures. A hidden projector screen, located above the marble wall, can be pulled down to create an immersive audiovisual experience. When not in use, the screen can be discreetly tucked away in the ceiling, allowing the space to return to its primary function as a place for living and everyday residential activities.
The "During the Strolling" residence was completed in 2017 in Qingdao, China. The design team faced challenges such as the cramped spaces caused by numerous partitions and the issue of dampness due to the proximity to the sea. However, through innovative design solutions and the use of built-in dehumidifiers and moisture-absorbing coatings, these challenges were successfully overcome.
This exceptional design by XYI Design has garnered recognition and acclaim. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the category of Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The "During the Strolling" residence stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.
Experience the serenity and spaciousness of "During the Strolling," a design that seamlessly blends natural beauty with a relaxing atmosphere, creating an elegant private garden for those seeking respite from the fast-paced city life.
